Kinky looks at your cats – and lights a little candle for some

Zurich – 3 November 2026, 18:30. Sofa, blanket, sketchbook open, laptop on my belly, and a mug of ginger tea that is going cold because I keep saying "oh, look at this one".

Your cats are better than ours

Okay, maybe not better. But louder. Since the site went online, you have been sending photos to Show us your cat, and tonight I finally sat down and looked at every single one. Cats in boxes, cats in sinks, cats on keyboards, one cat inside a guitar case looking very proud of it. I made a little sketch of every pose I liked. I am now on page eleven.

The crew picks

I sent the best ones to the group chat and asked everybody for one favourite. SinDee chose a grey farm cat sitting on a frozen water barrel, because it looks like her childhood. PoshX chose an old tabby asleep on a hot-water bottle and wrote: "This one is doing everything right." VenRod chose a black cat on a pile of library books and asked if the books were returned on time. DeeNice chose a cat sitting exactly in the middle of a rug, perfectly centred. Of course she did. My favourite is a little orange one wearing a paper party hat and looking absolutely furious about it. I have never felt so understood.

The gentle page

Some of you also wrote to us about cats who are not here anymore. For them we have the Rainbow Bridge, a quiet page for tributes. I read every one tonight, slowly. A cat who waited at the window every evening. A cat who lived nineteen years and ruled the whole house. A cat who only liked one person and that was enough. I don't make jokes on that page. I just say thank you to each one in my head.

Why it matters

We paint cats on walls, but the real ones are on your sofas, in your stories and in your hearts. Seeing them makes the crew feel much bigger than five.
