Questions about Shepard Fairey

What does OBEY mean?

Is OBEY Clothing by Shepard Fairey?

Yes. Fairey founded OBEY Clothing, which grew out of his street art and skate background. The clothing is a fashion brand; his artworks and prints are sold separately through the Obey Giant store and galleries.

Where can I see Shepard Fairey murals?

How much is a Shepard Fairey print worth?

His screenprints come in editions, often of several hundred. Signed and numbered prints usually trade from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, depending on the image, edition and condition; rare early prints, hand-finished works and canvases fetch more. Where is the original Hope poster?

The original mixed-media collage of the 2008 Obama portrait is in the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. The poster was based on a photo by Mannie Garcia for the Associated Press, which led to a well-known copyright dispute.
