Street art series: print sets, trading cards and multi-part works
Some artists think in sets rather than single images. A street art series can be a portfolio of prints released together, a run of trading cards or a work split into several parts that only make sense side by side. This page shows live eBay listings for print sets, trading cards and limited series.
What this category includes
- Print sets: two or more prints released as a group, sometimes in a portfolio, folder or box.
- Trading cards: card sets featuring artists, artworks or graffiti, from mass-market packs to small-run artist releases.
- Limited series: multi-part works or themed sets produced in a defined edition.
What drives value and price
For a street art series, completeness is usually the most important factor. A full set with matching numbers, the original portfolio or packaging and any colophon or title sheet tends to be more attractive than single sheets sold separately. When sets are numbered, check that every part carries the same edition number and that signatures, paper and printing details are consistent. Mixed numbers can indicate a set that was put together from different sources.
Technique matters too. A hand-pulled screenprint set from an artist or publisher is a very different item from an offset print poster series or a card pack printed in large quantities. Make sure the listing states what kind of print or card you are looking at, and compare it with information from the publisher where possible.
For trading cards, collectors usually look at set completion, card condition and whether packs are sealed. Special cards, such as signed or hand-drawn inserts, deserve extra scrutiny; ask how the seller obtained them.
Checking condition
- Inspect each part individually rather than relying on a group photo.
- Look for uneven fading, which can happen when only some pieces were displayed.
- Check corners and edges of cards and prints for wear, creases and dents.
- Confirm the portfolio, box or sleeves are included and in good shape.
Storage and display
Keep sets together and store them flat in acid-free folders or the original portfolio. If you frame a multi-part work, use matching frames and the same UV-filtering glass so the pieces age evenly. Store card sets in sleeves and binders away from humidity.
