Street art stickers: from slap tags to collector packs

Stickers are one of the most accessible ways into street culture. Cheap to make and quick to place, they let artists spread a name or character across a city, and sticker art has become a collecting field of its own. This page shows live eBay listings for street art stickers, including slap tags, sticker packs, Obey stickers, Banksy-themed stickers and vintage pieces.

What this category includes

  • Slap tags: hand-drawn or printed stickers, often on postal labels, carrying a writer's tag or character.
  • Sticker packs: sets released by artists, shops or brands, sometimes with a backing card or sleeve.
  • Obey stickers: designs associated with Shepard Fairey's Obey imagery, which grew out of a sticker campaign.
  • Banksy stickers: mostly unofficial products using well-known images; treat them as decor or fan items.
  • Vintage stickers: older promotional or scene stickers kept unused.

What drives value and price

Most street art stickers are inexpensive, mass-produced items, and their appeal lies in the motif and the culture rather than investment potential. A few factors can still make a difference. Hand-drawn slap tags are unique, while printed stickers are usually produced in large or unknown quantities. Official packs from an artist or publisher, ideally sealed in their original packaging, usually interest collectors more than loose reprints. Age and context matter too: early or event-specific stickers can be harder to find than current designs.

Be realistic about claims. A sticker described as "original" or "rare" should come with an explanation of where it came from, and provenance such as a release announcement, shop receipt or the seller's own history makes those claims more credible.

Checking condition and spotting reprints

Check that the backing paper is intact and that the sticker has never been applied. Look for creases, fading, scratches and peeling edges. Reprints can be identified by blurry print, slightly different colors or a different backing material compared with known examples. Ask for photos of the front and back of each sticker in a lot.

Storage and display

Keep stickers flat in acid-free sleeves or binder pages, away from heat and humidity, which can weaken the adhesive and curl the backing. If you want to display them, frame them rather than sticking them down so they remain unused.
